Terms of Use for StepLock

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using StepLock: Move to Unlock ("App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

StepLock helps you earn app time from daily movement and lock selected apps, categories, or websites until you have earned enough time to use them. The App may also show your earned app time through Live Activities, Lock Screen surfaces, and Dynamic Island where supported by iOS.

3. Local-First Use

StepLock does not require an account. Health progress, lock-session state, and blocked app selections are intended to be processed and stored on your device. You are responsible for choosing which apps or categories to lock and for how you use earned app time.

4. Health Data and Permissions

StepLock depends on Apple Health data, such as steps, exercise time, and stand time, to calculate earned app time. You must grant the required Health permissions for these features to work. Health data availability, accuracy, and timing may depend on your device, Apple Health, Apple Watch, sensors, and iOS settings.

5. Screen Time and System Permissions

App blocking depends on Apple's Screen Time, Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity, and related iOS frameworks. You must grant the required permissions for these features to work. iOS behavior, permissions, device settings, and Apple platform limitations may affect availability or reliability.

6. Premium Lifetime Purchase

StepLock may offer a one-time, non-consumable lifetime Premium purchase. Premium unlocks unlimited blocked app selections, subject to App Store rules and the availability of the App.

Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store. Prices, taxes, refunds, and payment processing are handled by Apple and may vary by country or region. Premium entitlement and restore flows may be managed through RevenueCat.

7. Free Limits

The free version may limit the number of apps, categories, or websites you can lock. These limits may change over time. If you exceed the free limits, the App may ask you to upgrade to Premium.

8. Not Medical, Fitness, or Safety Advice

StepLock is a habit and productivity tool. It is not a medical, fitness, health-care, safety, or emergency service. You should use your own judgment and consult qualified professionals before making health or exercise decisions.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App in violation of applicable laws or third-party rights.
• Attempt to bypass, interfere with, or misuse entitlement checks or app restrictions.
• Reverse engineer, modify, or distribute the App except where permitted by law.
• Use the App in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the App or related services.

10. No Guarantee of Outcomes

StepLock is intended to support healthier device habits. We do not guarantee that using the App will change habits, reduce screen time, increase movement, prevent all app use, or achieve any specific outcome.

11. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party services and platforms, including Apple for App Store purchases, Health, Screen Time, Family Controls, and iOS system features, and RevenueCat for purchase entitlement management. Their own terms and policies may apply.

12. Intellectual Property

The App, its branding, design, and original materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except the limited right to use the App as offered.

13. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, lost productivity, missed notifications, inaccurate Health data, or inability to block or unblock apps.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the App or any feature if necessary for legal, security, operational, or platform reasons.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance unless applicable law requires additional steps.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country provide otherwise.

18. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
